Project Information

  • Project Name: 57 MW Solar Plant
  • Category: Utility Scale
  • Country: Rajasthan, India
  • Estimated Time: 11 Months
  • Project Status: Completed

Built in the desert state of Rajasthan, our 57 MW solar plant at Pokhran, thrives in one of India's best solar radiation zones, providing reliable energy to power distribution networks.

Pokhran's exceptional solar irradiance levels make it one of the most ideal locations for utility-scale solar energy generation in India. This plant was designed to harness the region's intense sunlight year-round, delivering high-capacity, stable power to the regional distribution network while supporting Rajasthan's clean energy vision and reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.

Project challenges

Constructing a 57 MW solar plant in the harsh desert environment of Pokhran presented significant challenges, including extreme heat and dust conditions affecting equipment performance, managing sand accumulation on panels, and building a resilient transmission infrastructure across the remote desert terrain to connect reliably with the power distribution network.

Extreme Desert Climate Conditions

The intense heat, dust storms, and sand accumulation in Pokhran's desert environment posed ongoing challenges to maintaining panel efficiency and equipment durability.

Remote Transmission Infrastructure

Establishing a reliable power evacuation and grid connectivity infrastructure across the remote and rugged desert landscape to feed into the distribution network.

Our solution

Our team conducted a detailed desert site assessment and deployed dust-resistant, high-efficiency solar panels engineered to withstand Pokhran's extreme climate. An automated cleaning system was integrated to combat sand accumulation, while a robust transmission network was built to ensure seamless power evacuation and reliable delivery to the regional distribution grid throughout the year.
